Deschutes County Seeks Volunteers For Dog Control Board

deschutes-county-3

Deschutes County is accepting applications from community members interested in serving on the County’s Dog Control Board of Supervisors. There is currently an opening for one board member, and one alternate member. Both positions are volunteer and unpaid.

The Dog Control Board represents the Board of County Commissioners and makes decisions at hearings for dog owners whose canine(s) has been involved in the chasing, wounding, or killing of livestock, including free-range chickens and turkeys. To be appointed to the position, applicants must own livestock and/or dogs.

Dog Control Board members meet as needed, attending hearings when they are scheduled. Meetings are hybrid and include options for virtual or in-person participation at the Deschutes Services Building at 1300 Wall Street in Bend.

To apply, please visit www.deschutes.org/jobs. Applications will be accepted until midnight on Thursday, Feb. 13.
