Election Forum in Redmond Friday

election-2

Redmond Executive Association, Redmond Rotary, and Redmond Kiwanis Club are co-hosting a local election forum at the Redmond Library this Friday, April 25. This forum is part of the collaborative election series which started in 2022.

“For several election cycles now we have organized a forum for all candidates and local measures on the ballot,” said Jennifer Stephens, REA member and forum coordinator. “We are inviting candidates with and without opponents in this election. Following previous forums, we received positive feedback from community members, and candidates alike, that this forum format creates a unique opportunity for in person engagement with all candidates.”

All candidates on the ballot seeking to serve on the Redmond School Board, Redmond Area Park and Recreation District, Redmond Fire and Rescue, and Redmond zones for COCC District and Deschutes Public Library District, will have the opportunity to share why they are running and engage with community members in a networking reception.

“There will be a mix of speeches from the uncontested candidates, and a moderated Q&A style for each head to head race. Following the forum portion of the event, there will be a networking period for people to visit with candidates at their tables, and pick up campaign materials,” Stephens added.

There is no cost to attend. Ballots for the May election will be mailed on Wednesday, April 30. Election Day is Tuesday, May 20.
