Bend Man Dies After Struck By Pickup in Parking Lot

A 71-year-old Bend man died Saturday after being struck by a pickup truck in a northeast Bend parking lot. According to Bend Police, at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1st, officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at 660 NE 3rd Street, Bend.

When officers arrived, they found a 71-year-old Bend man, lying on the ground in the parking lot after being hit by a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, a 31-year-old Bend man, removed his vehicle from atop the injured man and remained on scene.

The 71-year-old man was transported by Bend Fire & Rescue to St. Charles Bend and later died from injuries related to the collision.

The driver of the Toyota Tacoma was cited for careless driving – causing an accident.
