Bend Oktoberfest Returns to Downtown Bend

Break out the lederhosen and dust off the dirndls — Bend Oktoberfest returns Saturday, September 19 from 2–9pm on the lawn of the Deschutes Historical Museum for a free, family-friendly celebration packed with Bavarian flair and Central Oregon charm. According to Lay it Out Events:

This high-spirited community festival brings a touch of Munich to the High Desert with live music, traditional Oktoberfest games, craft beer, local food vendors, quirky competitions and the crowd-favorite Bark Bash dog events — all in the heart of downtown Bend.

Guests can test their strength in the Stein Holding Contest, show off their skills in the Pretzel Toss and Beer Relay, roll their way to victory in the Barrel Rolling Race, or compete in the always-entertaining Yodeling Competition and Costume Contest. Advance registration is required for games, and space is limited.

Bark Bash Brings the Bork

From 2–4pm, dog lovers can cheer on four-legged competitors during the beloved Bark Bash, now part of Bend Oktoberfest and hosted in partnership with the Humane Society of Central Oregon.

Registration is $20 per dog, with all proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Central Oregon to support rescue and wellness programs. Day-of registration opens at 1:30pm, and proof of rabies vaccination is required.

“Bend Oktoberfest is all about community — bringing together families, friends, dogs, local breweries and businesses for an afternoon of pure fall fun,” said Megan Burton of Lay It Out Events. “It’s playful, it’s competitive, it’s a little ridiculous — and that’s exactly how we like it.”

Admission to Bend Oktoberfest is free. Food, beverage and activity registration fees apply.

Vendor applications for marketplace and restaurant vendors are currently open.
