Powell Butte Fire Destroys Barn, Creates Plume Of Smoke

090814.Powell.Butte.Barn.FirePRINEVILLE, OR — Crook County firefighters were very busy with a large barn fire outside of Powell Butte Saturday.  The fire, first reported around 4:30 p.m., burned not only the building, but nearby farm equipment and hundreds of tons of hay.  The barn fire also sent up a large plume of smoke visible around much of Crook County and Central Oregon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it does not appear to be suspicious.  No injuries were reported in Saturday’s fire.

Crews Make Progress On Alder Springs Fire
