Crater Lake, Ore. – Officials say thousands of rounds of ammunition were stolen from a locked building at Crater Lake National Park.
According to the National Park Service, the ammunition was stolen from a locked building inside the headquarters of the park. It’s used as part of the park’s law enforcement program, and the theft is classified as a felony.
Park rangers noticed the rifle and pistol caliber ammunition was missing early Monday morning, according to a park spokesman. Investigators are offering up to $1,000 for tips that lead to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people who stole the bullets.
