The Championships Take Place March 5 to 11 at Mt. Bachelor

Bend, Ore. – The Oregon State University – Cascades men’s alpine ski team has won the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association’s Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference. The final competition in the series took place February 11 and 12 at the Bogus Basin Resort in Idaho.

The students also achieved individual success. Business major Grant Hamlin, from Gresham, Ore., won the individual conference title for the season. Natural resources major Danny O’Neal, who is from Baker City, Ore., placed second. Fourth place was secured in a tie by Jack Botti of Bend and Cody Winters of Gresham, both business majors.

The wins secured a position for the alpine ski team, still a club sports team, at the USCSA 39th National Championships, where teams from six regions throughout the country will compete.

The championships will take place March 5 to 11 at Mt. Bachelor in Bend. More than 500 student athletes are anticipated from colleges and universities from throughout the U.S.

The OSU-Cascades snow sports club formed in 2013, and includes Nordic and snowboarding teams, in addition to alpine.
