Tour Des Chutes Awards $125,000 In Grants

BEND, Ore. — Annual fundraising event Tour des Chutes reported record level participation by riders and sponsors during last July’s event.

In August, the board of directors announced grants of $125,000 to local cancer survivorship programs.

Last Tuesday, Tour des Chutes Founder Gary Bonacker and Executive Director Leslie Cogswell presented a check for $85,000 to St. Charles Foundation to be used for their cancer survivorship programs.

The remaining $40,000 has been reserved for the newly formed Pediatric Foundation, to assist families of children with cancer who travel outside the Central Oregon area for treatments.

The eleventh annual Tour des Chutes is planned for July 11th, 2015.
