Don’t be fooled by an “arrest warrant” scam

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says don’t be fooled by an “arrest warrant” scam.

Someone is calling people, claiming to be a deputy, saying the caller can get out of an arrest warrant from missing jury duty by paying some money.

This is a fairly common scam, but some people still fall for it, so the Sheriff’s Office is once again telling people that deputies will never contact a person and ask for money in that manner.
