As a man spends the rest of his life in prison for killing a Bend woman, new information about the day after the murder is being released.
KTVZ obtained records detailing the events following the death of Kaylee Sawyer in 2016.
The documents say Edwin Lara attended church with his wife the day after he killed Sawyer, just as he did every Sunday.
They then went to a movie.
Lara hid Sawyer’s body after his wife fell asleep.
He told his wife about the death the next morning, but lied and said it was an accident.
He then took off, shot a man in California and carjacked a car with a family inside.
He was arrested after a high speed chase.
