A Redmond man convicted of child sex abuse and facing up to 50 years in prison is no longer behind bars.

A judge yesterday granted Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel’s request to drop all charges against Joshua Horner.

He was convicted last year.

The victim testified that Horner shot her dog to back up a threat not to tell police about the abuse.

The Oregon Innocence Project and local detectives investigated and found the dog alive and well and the victim no longer willing to talk about the case.
