Redmond VFW now has fire pit for respectful disposal of flags

The Redmond Veterans of Foreign Wars post now has cement fire pit for the respectful disposal of old American flags.

Ridgeview High School Senior Christopher Mathis built it for his Eagle Scout Project.

It was dedicated yesterday – Veterans Day.

The U.S. flag code says old flags should be “destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
