At 6:34 this morning, the Bend Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at the south Sonic restaurant. The fire was discovered by the manager who was inside the building and was able to escape and call 9-1-1. Crews arrived to find black, heavy smoke rolling out from under the roof and went into defensive attack. City of Bend Public Works, Bend Police and Cascade Natural Gas assisted with securing the scene. Cause of fire is under investigation.
