MADRAS, Ore. (KTVZ) — Madras police said Wednesday they are looking for a Volvo semi-truck with damage to the tractor’s front-right and passenger sides in Tuesday night’s hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Highway 97 that killed a 59-year-old Madras man.

Madras police, assisted by the Bend Police Department’s traffic team, continued their investigation through the night at the crash scene on Highway 97 in northern Madras, near Northeast Cypress Street, Detective Sgt. Steve Webb said.

Based on parts found at the crash scene, they’ve been able to determine the suspect vehicle is a 2018 Volvo VNL series tractor. Also, based on surveillance video under review, it was towing a traditional “van-type” semi trailer.
