Local drug agents arrested four men after investigating a drug trafficking operation in the Crook County area. Rebel Shetler, 58, Jeffery Shetler, 65, and Mark Anderson, 59, all from Prineville, and Brad Wakefield, 63, from Troutdale were arrested during two different traffic stops. According to a news release from Central Oregon Drug Enforcement:

Over the course of the past several months, Detectives assigned to the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team have been investigating a mid-size organization that was trafficking commercial quantities of methamphetamine throughout the Crook County, OR region.  During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify several components of the operation, some of which included the individuals involved as well as different locations of interest.  Information led investigators to believe that commercial quantities of methamphetamine were being transported into Crook County from outside the area and were then being sold for profit.

On February 5, 2021, at approximately 2100 hrs. Wakefield was contacted on a traffic stop near the intersection of NW Madras Hwy @ NW Ryegrass Rd. in Crook County.  Wakefield was driving a 2013, white in color, Ford pickup at this time.  During a search of Wakefield’s vehicle, detectives located approximately ½ pound of methamphetamine that was concealed inside the vehicle.  Additional evidence of the sales, manufacturing, and distribution of methamphetamine were located within the vehicle.  Wakefield was arrested at this time and lodged at the Crook County Adult Jail on the below listed charges.

On March 12, 2021, at approximately 2245 hours Jeffrey & Rebel Shetler, as well as Anderson, were contacted on a traffic stop on O’Neil Hwy near mile marker 8 in Crook County.  Anderson was the driver of the vehicle at this time, which was a 2001, white in color, Ford pickup.  Jeffrey & Rebel Shetler were passengers in the vehicle.  During a search of the vehicle, detectives located approximately ½ pound of methamphetamine, US currency, and a rifle.  Jeffrey & Rebel Shetler, as well as Anderson, were arrested at this time and lodged at the Crook County Adult Jail on the below listed charges.

Members of both the Crook County Sheriff’s Office and the Prineville Police Department assisted CODE detectives throughout this investigation, which also included narcotics K-9 ‘Jett’ from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

Wakefield was charged with PCS, MCS, DCS (methamphetamine), and parole violation. R. Shetler was charged with PCS, MCS, DCS (methamphetamine-commercial quantity). J. Shetler and Anderson were charged with Criminal Conspiracy.
