Driver Fatigue Causes Fatal Crash

Oregon State Police say a Terebonne woman was killed from a two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Wasco county.  About 3:40 P.M., OSP responded to Hwy 26 near milepost 73. Preliminary investigation revealed a Chevy Trailblazer, Operated by Jaron Rust, 29, of Terrebonne, was eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a Volkswagen Golf operated by Alec Erickson, 25, of Bend.

A passenger in the Trailblazer, Katie Rust, 29, of Terrebonne, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jaron Rust and two juvenile passengers were transported to the hospital. Erickson was also transported to the hospital.

OSP was assisted by the Warm Springs Tribal Police Department, Warm Springs EMS, and ODOT.
