I-84 reopened eastbound and westbound in eastern Oregon Wednesday night after being closed since 8 a.m. due to a truck that crashed on a bridge near Meacham Exit 238, 23 miles west of La Grande. According to ODOT:
This was an extended closure do to the challenges of removing the truck that was hanging over the edge of the structure, clean-up of slippery apple juice concentrate spilled on the bridge deck, removal of crash debris, addressing damaged guardrail and re-establishing traffic control set up in an active work zone.
The work zone has one lane of eastbound and one lane of westbound traffic on the same bridge, separated by candlestick cones. Due to limited parking for trucks, the westbound freeway was closed to fright traffic in Ontario, adding to the closure challenges and reopening delays. Please slow down and pay extra attention between Exits 238 and 246 where traffic speeds are reduced to 50 mph. Check TripCheck.com or call 511 / 800-977-6368 for update conditions. Outside Oregon, call 503-588-2941. More Info Here
