Joe Raedle/Getty Images(DETROIT) — General Motors announced six new recalls on Monday, which, combined, involve approximately 7.6 million vehicles in the U.S.
The vehicles affected are from model years 1997 to 2014, and the majority of them are being recalled over ignition key problems.

So far, GM says it is aware of seven crashes, eight injuries and three fatalities related to this latest round of recalls.
“The fatal crashes occurred in older model full-size sedans being recalled for inadvertent ignition key rotation. There is no conclusive evidence that the defect condition caused those crashes,” the automaker said in a statement.
The three deaths are in addition to the 13 deaths blamed on ignition switch defects in smaller sedans.
Earlier on Monday, GM unveiled its compensation program for victims of crashes caused by these defective switches.
GM says recall-related repairs announced in its second quarter will cost the company about $1.2 billion.
