Redmond, Ore. – It was a chilly and probably frightening car crash in Redmond. A teenage driver went off the road and into an irrigation canal.

The car was partially submerged in the irrigation canal and the two girls inside had to crawl out into the frigid water to escape. Redmond Police say the went out through the sunroof.

No one was injured in the Wednesday night crash, but the teenage driver was given a ticket. She was cited for “careless driving.” Officers believe that speed was a factor.
REDMOND CANAL 2

The chilly crash happened on the irrigation canal near Northwest Canal Boulevard and King Way. Irrigation District crews responded to make sure that there wasn’t a hazard from spilled fuel- they had to lower the water level of the canal to get the car out.
