New City of Bend Weekly Road and Traffic Report
Bend, Ore. – The City of Bend is launching a new weekly road and traffic report to help Bend residents find the best ways to get around town during construction season. There are many projects in progress this 2015 construction season – public and private, sewer and road work – and they can detour or delay your commute.
The City will issue the roadwork report to news outlets on Fridays for projects expected during the following work week.
Each summer, the City conducts pavement preservation and maintenance to make roads smoother. The program focuses on extending the lifespan of roadways and minimizing the costs of maintaining a viable road surface.
More information about the 2015 Street Preservation and Maintenance Program can be found through: www.bendoregon.gov/streets.
The City is also providing much needed enhancements to its sewer collection system, and the Southeast Interceptor sewer pipes are generally buried underneath City streets. After sewer lines are installed, road surfaces are rebuilt. More about the sewer work: www.bendoregon.gov/SEI.
