Spokes Fighting Strokes, a national nonprofit founded by stroke survivor and adaptive cycling advocate Dan Zimmerman, is bringing its powerful mission to Bend with a two-day event designed to inspire, connect, and empower individuals of all abilities.

Hosted at Pine Nursery Park, with Bend based Partner, Beyond Stillness- Stories After Stroke, the event will feature an Adaptive Trike Clinic on Monday, June 2nd, and a Community Meetup Ride on Tuesday, June 3rd, both from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

These events are free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity for stroke survivors, people with disabilities, and community members to engage in adaptive cycling — a transformative tool for healing and freedom.

“Focus on your abilities, not your disabilities,” says Zimmerman, who founded Spokes Fighting Strokes after a stroke left him with aphasia and a new purpose.

“Come ride, connect, and celebrate what’s possible.”

Zimmerman travels the country with a fleet of 22 adaptive trikes, creating hands- on experiences that allow participants to reconnect with movement, confidence, and community. Through his work, hundreds have discovered new pathways to independence, empowerment, and emotional recovery.
