The City Club of Central Oregon invites the public to its June forum,  Together at the Table: A Community Conversation on Food Insecurity,” taking place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Central Oregon.

Despite the region’s economic growth, thousands of Central Oregonians—including children, seniors, and working families—face food insecurity daily. The forum will explore how rising food cost, increased demand, and changes in funding to food assistance are straining local food systems. Most importantly we’ll highlight innovative solutions local organizations are undertaking and how can the community support these efforts to address food insecurity.

Panelists include:

  • Ranae Staley, Executive Director, The Giving Plate
  • Lindsey Stailing, Director, Patient Support Services, Mosaic Community Health
  • Audrey Tehan, Founder and Executive Director, Seed to Table

Moderated by Carly Auten, Food Project Director of NeighborImpact, the conversation will examine

  • the root causes of food insecurity
  • the scope of those facing food insecurity in Central Oregon
  • its effects on all aspects of our community like education, healthcare, houselessness, and economic development
  • and highlight innovative local solutions and collaborative efforts.

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of this issue and steps they can take themselves to be a part of the solution. We are partnering with our Forum Presenting Sponsor First Interstate Bank to bring their food drive to the forum. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to the forum or pick up a FIB bag there to fill and drop off at a local branch.
