Regional economist Damon Runberg says it wasn’t just Deschutes County with a good showing last month.

Strong job growth over the past couple years is beginning to spill over into Jefferson County, which was one Oregon’s fastest growing economies.

Meantime – Crook County is struggling to overcome recent losses in wood product manufacturing.

Overall, Unemployment rates were largely unchanged across the region in May.
