Longtime local coffee roaster Sisters Coffee Company is expanding its offerings in Bend with a new café on the ground floor of the Jackstraw residential development. Located at 310 S.W. Industrial Way in Bend’s Southern Crossing neighborhood, the new café will have a soft opening Thursday, April 23, followed by a grand opening celebration on Friday May 22.
It will be Sisters’ second location in Bend, the first being in the city’s Old Mill District. The 37-year-old coffee company also has its original café in Sisters and one in Portland’s Pearl District.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to open our fourth retail location and continue our mission of creating an authentic coffee experience built on a deep love for our craft and a heartfelt kindness for the people we serve,” said Jared Durham, Chief Development Officer of Sisters Coffee Company, who co-owns the company with his siblings, Jesse and Justin Durham. “This project has been in the works for over two years, and we’re incredibly grateful for the collective effort, creativity and teamwork that made it possible. We’re excited to open the doors and start serving the community.”
Sisters Coffee Company worked with Hacker Architects, a Portland firm with an office in Bend, on the new café. The design draws on the surrounding high desert landscape, the site’s history as an early lumber mill and Sisters Coffee Company’s log-cabin origins in nearby Sisters, Oregon. The space incorporates elements of natural and milled wood, concreate and metal, while sage greens, ponderosa oranges and juniper golds add warm and inviting colors. The café is also filled with locally made benches, tabletops and other furnishings.
As at other Sisters Coffee Company cafes, the new one in Bend will offer a full lineup of freshly roasted whole bean coffees and classic espresso drinks, seasonal specialty drinks, cold brew, chai, matcha, hot and iced teas. Starting this weekend, food offerings will include breakfast sandwiches, seasonal specials, sides like breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon and English muffins, and a wide range of house-made baked goods and pastries.
The new café in Bend will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day beginning Thursday, April 23. A grand opening celebration with free appetizers and a DJ will also be held on Friday May 22. During the grand opening, every drink purchase will receive a free 12-ounce bag of coffee while supplies last.
