The Jefferson County Event Complex is proud to announce it has been awarded a $48,000 grant from the Visit Central Oregon Future Fund to support its Infrastructure Improvement Project. This funding will help enhance regional event capacity, improve visitor access, and strengthen the growing tourism economy in Jefferson County. Visit Central Oregon awarded a total of $300,000 to twelve regional projects in its fourth annual Central Oregon Future Fund grant cycle. The program supports initiatives that benefit both visitors and residents by reinvesting tourism revenue into community-driven improvements. This year, the organization reviewed 26 applications requesting more than $1 million in combined funding.

“By reinvesting tourism dollars directly into projects that protect our natural landscapes and enhance our Central Oregon community, we are ensuring that our destination remains strong for future generations of residents and visitors alike,” said Scott Larson, CEO of Visit Central Oregon.

The Jefferson County Event Complex project will expand Cowdeo youth rodeo programming and enhance the Corwin Arena, supporting the region’s capacity to host high‑demand events, elevate the visitor experience, and promote tourism-driven economic activity.

“We’re thrilled the Jefferson County Event Complex has been awarded $48,000 from Visit Central Oregon for our Infrastructure Improvement Project,” said a Jefferson County Event Complex Manager Bart Platt. “This investment helps us continue strengthening our facilities for emergency situations, enhancing visitor experiences, and supporting the vibrant community events that make Jefferson County such a special place. We’re grateful for the partnership and excited for what’s ahead as we put these improvements into action.”

The Event Complex also received three grants from St. Charles Health System:

  • $1,500 for the Event Safety & EMT Support Program (Basic Needs Grant)
  • $3,000 for the Cowdeo Community Activation & Rodeo Heritage Showcase (Priority Grant)
  • $10,000 for the Wayfinding & Code of Conduct Signage Project (IDEA Grant)

These contributions further bolster safety resources, community engagement, and the preservation of Jefferson County’s rich rodeo heritage.
