Grants Pass, Ore. – On Saturday at about 3:30 PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Highway 99 near Fruitdale Drive in Grants Pass.
According to Sergeant Jeff Allison, a 1988 Chevrolet S-10 pickup was traveling southbound on Highway 99 when it attempted to make a U-turn. As the vehicle made the turn, another southbound vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, collided with it.
The impact caused both vehicles to slide across the road and into the driveway of a private residence where it struck two parked vehicles and a boat. The driver of the S-10, 67 year old Robert W Smith of Rogue River was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Silverado, 62 year old Michael E CLARK of Rogue River, was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center for serious injuries.
