Pedestrian Safety Detail Scheduled For Prineville Tuesday

Downtown.Prineville.1PRINEVILLE, OR — Prineville police officers will be out Tuesday promoting pedestrian safety.  Tuesday’s safety operation will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at several downtown intersections.  Warning signs will be posted, and drivers are advised to use caution in the Pedestrian Safety Zone.

Prineville PD said the primary focus on Tuesday’s Safety Operation is to raise awareness of distracted drivers and to reduce the number of vehicle crashes involving pedestrians in city limits.

Drivers that fail to stop, or remain stopped for a pedestrian, could face a fine up to $260.
