Redmond Shop Fire Causes Damage

Redmond, Ore. – Redmond Firefighters were able to contain a shop fire from spreading to nearby structures, however $50,000 in damage was caused to the building and contents at 408 SW 27th. The fire broke out Friday, shortly before 4am.

“Having well trained fire crews on scene quickly prevented additional loss to nearby structures” per Fire Chief Tim Moor.

This property had recently been purchased, and the family was in the process of moving in. They were using the shop to store their belongings as they moved into their new home. The three people who were staying in the shop escaped and called 911 without injury. Red Cross was activated to assist the family. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
