Jefferson County School District Superintendent Hands in Resignation

Jefferson County, Ore. – After nearly nine years on the job, Jefferson County School District Superintendent Rick Molitor announced his resignation.

Molitor told the school board of his decision Nov. 14 at its regular public meeting. He’ll remain in the position with the district through the end of this school year, June 30.

According to a spokeswoman for the district, the resignation is amicable.

Molitor’s colleagues said there were many positive things during his tenure, including the approval of a $26.7 million bond in 2102 that paid for the construction of the Madras Performing Arts Center as well as a new stadium at Madras High School. The bond also funded construction of the Warm Springs K-8 Academy.

Molitor said he intends to look in new career directions.
