When: October 6th at 6:35 p.m. (Sunset)
Where: The West Lot at the Old Mill District (across the foot bridge from Anthony’s/Gap)
What: 5K run and 1 mile fun mile
This is Bend’s only evening GLOW run/walk event! All participants are encouraged to wear neon, glow necklaces, flashing lights, or anything that makes a “glowing” statement! Start gun at sunset. As the runners/walkers proceed through the course around the Old Mill District, everyone starts glowing as it gets darker outside.
This year’s proceeds will be benefit benefit Sparrow Clubs children in medical need, Treehouse Therapies Anabelle Wilson scholarship fund and Safe Families for Children Central Oregon. Each school that has a Sparrow Club and participates with at least 10 students will earn a portion of the proceeds for their school’s Sparrow. This year’s race will be in memory of Anabelle Wilson who passed away this past May.
Registration: 5K $25 adults $20 under 18 (all timed runners must register)
1mile fun mile $15 adults; $10 under 18; 5 and under free
Prizes: Fastest male & female adult, teen, tween, child. Everyone available for raffle prizes
Packet pick up: Thursday, Oct 5th 2-6 p.m. at FootZone downtown
Day of: Registration & packet pick up available (but not encouraged) the day of the event 4:30-6:00 p.m. . Registrations add $5 per entry.
This is a family event! Bounce houses and face painting for all prior to event.
This year there will be a brief memorial & song for Anabelle Wilson, the events’ name sake at 6:00 p.m.
