Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR) will host a Holiday Event for Veterans and Families – Claus, Paws, and Community at the Ranch on Saturday, December 13th, a holiday gathering designed for veterans and their families to connect, celebrate, and enjoy a variety of community-driven activities at the Ranch’s 19-acre property located between Bend and Redmond.
This year’s event will feature a special Santa Claus—one of COVR’s own veteran community members—coming out of Santa retirement exclusively for the Ranch. Veterans and families are invited to take holiday photos with Santa in a relaxed, welcoming Ranch setting.
COVR is partnering with Street Dog Hero, who will be on-site with adoptable rescue dogs for a meet-and-greet and potential adoptions. This collaboration offers animal-loving families and veterans an opportunity to connect with the rescue and meet animals in need of forever homes.
In addition, Reveille & Retreat, a local women veterans organization, will host a women veterans clothing swap during the event. After receiving generous clothing donations from the community, the swap will offer a wide range of items for women veterans to browse and take home at no cost.
The event will also include:
A bonfire and s’mores roasting station
Complimentary snacks and beverages
A holiday ornament-making station (RSVP required to reserve materials and receive instructions)
The Ranch is aiming for a strong veteran turnout and encourages veterans of all eras—as well as their families and close friends—to attend. Space is limited, so email RSVP’s will ensure a spot as well as get attendees all the important event details and updates.
