Orchestra to perform two free concerts, including its first in Sunriver
COCO, the Community Orchestra of Central Oregon, announces its holiday concert weekend, taking place December 8th and 9th, 2018.
The orchestra has its first opportunity to perform at a venue in Sunriver, at Three Rivers School on December 8th. The Senior Center in Bend is the December 9th venue, and has been the traditional home of COCO’s Holiday Concert, where they have performed for the past five years. Both concerts are free and open to the public. Performances start at 2PM.
In its fifth season, COCO comprises 45 musicians, a number of whom also share their abilities with the Cascade Horizon Band, the Cascade Winds, and the Central Oregon Symphony. They are lead by conductor Sam Taylor, who has been with the orchestra since its inception. In addition to conducting, Sam is also a concert violinist, violin instructor, and composer. COCO’s repertoire includes a variety of genres, to appeal to a wide range of tastes.
