The concert features the High Street Band, a fun, high energy jazz and swing cover band, and The Gambler and the Thief, an Americana folk duo, on May 19th at the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend. All proceeds benefit the 300 orphaned children at Otino Waa Children’s Village in northern Uganda.
Otino Waa is a 501c3 that was started 15 years ago by a couple from Bend, and it has grown to become the home for 300 orphans, with a primary and secondary school, Scholarship Program and medical/dental clinic in the remote region of Lira, Uganda. Otino Waa’s US office is in Bend and it is primarily supported by Central Oregon.
The concert is a benefit to raise money for the children’s basic needs (food, clothing, education and medical care.) Tickets are $28 and can be purchased on the Tower Theatre’s website, all proceeds go to the children: http://www.towertheatre.org/
