All Central Oregon residents are invited to a free community forum to learn about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and how it impacts our region. Hosted and presented by Central Oregon Veterans Ranch, the event will take place on November 7 from 6-8 pm at the Bend Senior High School Auditorium on 230 NE 6th St, in Bend.
“Our hope is to bring a deeper understanding of PTSD to our Central Oregon communities; how it affects all of us and how to better recognize it and provide support to our friends, family members, coworkers, etc. with local resources,” said Alison Perry, COVR Founder, Executive Director and Licensed Professional Counselor.
Perry will be co-presenting with Colonel Ron Ford, retired Air Force pilot and veteran of the Vietnam War. Their combined 20+ years working with military veterans and trauma survivors of all ages will guide the discussion.
According to Perry, the presentation will look at trauma through the lens of veterans, but will not be limited to this viewpoint, and will address the impact of trauma on individuals and families more generally.
The event is open to all community members. No tickets or registration required, but RSVPs are encouraged: https://www.facebook.com/events/308381203310736/. For more information, visit covranch.org
