Crooked River Man Taken To Hospital By Air Ambulance After Crash

Terrebonne, Ore. – Yesterday at approximately 5:30 PM, deputies from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported injury motor vehicle crash on NW 27th St and Lower Bridge Rd in Terrebonne. Dispatch reported two vehicles were involved one being a motorcycle and the other an ATV. It was reported the motorcycle rider appeared to be injured.

Deputies arrived and discovered the above vehicles involved. An initial investigation determined the motorcycle driven by 33 year old Dustin Cartner of Crooked River Ranch was attempting to pass the Polaris driven by 66 year old Steve Fox. Fox attempted to make a left hand turn and was struck by Cartner.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Redmond Fire Department. NW 27th St was closed for approximately one hour. Cartner was transported to St. Charles in Bend by an air ambulance.

This crash is still under investigation. The Polaris was not registered for street use. Alcohol and speed are possible factors in this crash. No citations have been issued at this time.
