Major Fire Exercises In La Pine Saturday

LA PINE, Ore. — La Pine Fire District firefighters will be undergoing a major training exercise in La Pine tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm.

In Saturday’s exercise, the La Pine firefighters will be working on two scenarios.

In the first, firefighters will be practicing a large scale commercial fire response at the ODOT La Pine Highway Maintenance Center. The second, at the district’s fire training area at the Huntington Road fire station, will be a rural water supply delivery exercise.

Though there will be no actual flames – there will be smoke (training) and water flowing along with fire ground activity.

No traffic delays or blockages are expected but there will be extra emergency vehicle traffic in the area during the exercises.
