Stolen Items Recovered In Prineville

Prineville Police arrested a woman over the weekend after finding thousands of dollars worth of stolen items. Members of the Crook County Sheriff’s Office and the Prineville Police Department served a search warrant Saturday at 2235 SE Melrose Drive. Recovered at the property were four stolen trailers, a stolen Caterpillar skid steer with attachments, and hundreds of square feet of astro turf. (estimated recovery value is approximately $40,000.00)

A 35-year-old Prineville woman was charged with the following crimes and is being held in the Crook County Jail without bail.

1. Possession of a stolen vehicle 4 counts
2. Theft in the first degree by receiving 2 counts
3. Theft in the first degree 4 counts
4. Unauthorized use of a vehicle 4 counts
5. Criminal mischief in the second degree
6. Criminal trespass in the second degree
7. Trafficking vehicle with altered VIN

The investigation is continuing, and more charges and arrests are anticipated.

Pine Mountain Fire is 85% Contained Monday

The Pine Mountain Fire is 85% contained and remains 2,589 acres in size. Today, firefighters will continue mop-up, back hauling equipment and identifying suppression repair needs. The remaining mop-up is isolated to heat off the control handline

Bend Firefighters responded to a fire to a townhome in Northwest Crossing Sunday. According to a media release: At 7:41 am on Sunday, May 10 2026, a garage fire was reported on NW Crossing Drive in Bend.
