Helicopter Maker Partners With Bend Tech Company

Bend, Ore. – A Bend Company has teamed up with the largest helicopter manufacturer in the world to place technology onboard its aircraft.

Precise Flight Inc. of Bend, a company that produces braking and lighting equipment for airplanes and helicopters announced Thursday that it had entered into a supply agreement with Airbus Helicopters Inc. to sell a product that can reduce collisions between aircraft and birds.

The agreement would allow Airbus to offer Precise Flights technology called Pulselite Bird Prevention System as an option on all Airbus helicopters marketed in the U.S. , according to the release.

The system – the only on-board device certified by the FAA, can reduce collisions between birds and aircraft by up to 66 percent.
