DEVELOPING: Fatal Crash on Highway 20 East of Bend

A fatal two-vehicle crash closed U.S. Highway 20 in both directions for more than two hours about 35 miles southeast of Bend Wednesday morning, Oregon State Police reported.

The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. near milepost 36 and the intersection with state Highway 27, the Crooked River Highway.

ODOT advised motorists to expect an extended closure.

Shortly before 9 a.m., ODOT reported one lane had reopened to traffic in alternating directions, controlled by flaggers. The on-scene investigation was continuing, the agency said.
