Food Cart Bandit Escapes

Authorities are looking for a person who robbed a food cart in northeast Bend Friday. At 11:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery near the intersection of NE 2nd Street and NE Greenwood Avenue. The victim, a 26 year old Bend resident, did not sustain any injuries. Bend Police and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the area of 4th and Olney and searched for the suspect near the last known location.

“The suspect was not located and is still outstanding,” according to Bend Police.

Bend School Resource Officers contacted nearby schools to conduct a lock-out while the area was being searched.  The incident is still under investigation and there is no concern for the public safety.

Fire Damages Bend Home

Bend Firefighters responded to a fire to a townhome in Northwest Crossing Sunday. According to a media release: At 7:41 am on Sunday, May 10 2026, a garage fire was reported on NW Crossing Drive in Bend.
